As an environmental specialist, Mike Stermitz has worked in the environmental field for over 25 years with a number of environmental companies and agencies. Mike Stermitz also worked for the SWCA in Bismark, North Dakota, as an environmental specialist. There, he conducted inspections for the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) in western North Dakota.
Working in North Dakota since 2008, the SWCA are environmental consultants who help to make sure environmental standards are upheld during construction of projects such as oil and gas pipeline construction. SWCA environmental specialists work with the construction companies to help them complete their work, while also helping to maintain the local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
SWCA helps companies avoid expensive delays in construction by monitoring the construction and verifying that all work is in compliance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) before it begins. Environmental specialists also use electronic reporting systems to save time and help avoid environmental regulation or permit issues.
